Where it started
A cleaning business built client by client
My early twenties were spent building a cleaning business in Sacramento from scratch. No loan, no family to help. After graduating college, I took my three-year-old and hit the neighborhoods around us passing out flyers, and got chased out of more than one neighborhood along the way!
I did all of it. Marketing, the website, the books, the payroll, managing the office, the hiring and the firing, the mundane tasks and the meetings with every client. I made the early mistakes, celebrated the small wins, and worked through the setbacks. When you talk to me about your business, I already know what it takes to build a small business and set it on a path for long-term growth.
Marketing was always the part I loved, and it’s what I studied, with degrees in marketing and business management. After nearly two decades, I grew into a version of myself who wanted more connection. I’ve spent the past five years living in Arizona, connecting to nature and working with local business owners to help grow their businesses.
Where it started
The love of a good story
I’ve always been curious about what lies beneath the surface. As a kid, I was drawn to nature, animals, spirituality, old places, and stories I couldn’t quite explain. That curiosity never really left me. It’s grown into a deep appreciation for history, different cultures, family traditions, and the little things that give people and places their meaning.
I think that’s part of why I love working with small business owners. Every business has a story beyond what it sells or the services it offers. There’s a reason someone started it, experiences that shaped it, and personal touches that make it different from the one down the street.
I love getting to know those details. Not because every website needs to tell some grand story, but because understanding the person behind a business helps me create something that genuinely feels like theirs.

Why your voice comes first on every site
All those years of client meetings taught me that most people just want to be heard. They want their voices, their thoughts and their opinions to count.
I do better reading and feeling, so I created a guided prompt that pulls out your voice. It goes past what you want from the site. Who are you to your business and your customers? How do you treat them? What can they expect? I take all of that and turn it into a website that feels like you in digital form.
I originally wanted to be a consultant, but it lacked the creativity I wanted to express. Designing gives me both, helping small business owners grow and creating something that’s truly theirs.

Is hiring a freelance web designer riskier than hiring an agency?
Not when the project is set up right. Sprout Marketing & Design is a solo web design studio, and every project runs on a written agreement with the full price set before you sign and deadlines on both sides. When the site launches, it's yours with no monthly fees, so nothing depends on staying with me.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on the type of site. A custom website is priced from $1,800, and a semi-custom website from $800 for one page or $1,200 for four. Payment plans are available on projects over $2,000, and the cost calculator gives you an estimate without asking for your contact information.
Can I see what my new website could look like before I commit?
Yes, if you already have a website with four or more pages. A free concept preview shows what your site could look like before you pay for anything.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
Mostly service businesses. Past projects include a law firm, a plumbing company, therapists, an insurance agency, a pool service, a kids' sports center and event businesses. You can see them in the portfolio.
