Strategic Direction & Design Intent
An architectural designer website built around the portfolio
Homeowners planning a remodel want to see finished work before they pick up the phone. The firm had years of award-winning projects to show, and the old site wasn't showing any of them. The redesign needed to put that work up front and make it easy to understand what the firm does and how to start.
Pain Points
The old site was outdated and hard to navigate. The entire homepage was a single hero image with no links beneath it, so visitors had no path to services, past projects or contact information, and search engines had almost nothing to read.
Project Goals
Show the depth of the firm's work, explain each design service clearly and introduce the designer, whose background as a licensed general contractor sets the firm apart from a typical drafting service.
The Challenge
Organizing a very large body of work so it reads as a curated portfolio instead of an endless photo dump, while keeping the site fast with that many high-resolution images.
The Approach
The new residential design website was built with a real linking structure. Every section of the homepage leads somewhere: services, featured builds, the full portfolio, the designer's story and a clear way to start a project, whether the visitor is a homeowner or a builder looking for a design partner.
